Clair Moore Gioia, PhD
Dr. Gioia is a licensed psychologist who provides individual psychotherapy and psychological evaluations to older adolescents and adults. While a faculty member at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Gioia served as the Director of Inpatient Psychology at Parkland Hospital, and she has now joined Dallas Wellness Group located in Preston Center.
In addition to treating general difficulties with relationships difficulties, anxiety, depression, and general life stress, Dr. Gioia has unique experience in helping patients who have suffered from the effects of both recent and remote trauma as well as patients coping with psychotic symptoms who are adjusting to a new psychiatric diagnosis. She approaches treatment by tailoring the therapy to the individual and his or her goals. In order to help her patients find self-awareness, acceptance, and peace she frequently integrates mindfulness-based techniques when treating trauma, psychosis, difficulties managing intense emotions, and life transitions.
Dr. Gioia completed her doctorate at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where she completed an APA-Accredited internship. She additionally fulfilled a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital.
