Stephanie Swales, Ph.D.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Dallas where I teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels. I provide psychotherapy to individuals and couples as well as supervision to other clinicians. I work with adults of all ages and children ages 12 and up. I have published one book and numerous articles in the field of psychology, and I am currently working on two book contracts.
As a psychologist, I believe that psychotherapy works best when you feel free to express and explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences—including the ones that might feel difficult to put into words. Words have the power both to hurt and to heal. I am trained to listen and intervene in a way that can have many benefits, including relief from suffering and substantive, lasting changes such as personal growth, increased relationship satisfaction and life fulfillment, and an improved ability to work and succeed. I provide a comfortable, professional environment in which I aim to help individuals meet their own therapeutic goals.
